Making Your Goals Work With Your Life

This past weekend was pure mayhem. I was driving all over town—family birthdays, my dad in town, eating out, BBQs, burgers, and yes, even a stop at BJ’s Brewhouse. With all that chaos, it would’ve been easy to throw my goals out the window. But instead, I chose to work with my life, not against it.
Here’s how I did it:
I woke up early each morning to get my gym sessions in before the day got away from me.
I had my double scoop protein shakes right after training.
At meals, I focused on eating as much protein as I could.
I said “no” to birthday cake, but I did enjoy a small piece of pan dulce (because life is meant to be lived).
I tracked everything in MyFitnessPal so I could stay accountable.
That’s dedication. And this is exactly what I want for my clients. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about moving with intention, making choices that support your goals, and learning how to navigate the chaos instead of letting it derail you.

Key Takeaways for You
Here are some practical ways you can make your goals fit into your real life:
Prioritize your workouts early. Life piles up fast—get your training in before distractions take over.
Anchor your nutrition around protein. No matter where you eat, start with protein. It’ll keep you on track.
Track what matters. Even if the day gets messy, logging your food keeps you honest and in control.
Allow flexibility. Saying no all the time isn’t realistic. Choose your indulgences wisely and enjoy them guilt-free.
Focus on consistency, not perfection. Progress comes from stacking intentional choices day after day, even if every day doesn’t look “perfect.”
The truth is, life will always bring birthdays, dinners, travel, and busy weekends. You don’t need to avoid them—you need to learn how to move through them while keeping your goals alive.
If I can do it in the middle of family chaos, so can you. I believe in you.
